10 Throwbacks To The Original Red Dead Redemption In RDR2

I’ll be honest – I didn’t finish the game because I lost motivation to do so. Either way, a game has its faults but can also be quite fun. I did have a bit of a blast in co-op free roam and running around this unique open world. As is with Far Cry games, I loved the times where wild animals would appear out of nowhere and help me attack NPCs. I adored Boomer and all of the other companions, but that’s about it.

As 2018 comes to a close, DualShockers and our staff are reflecting on this year’s batch of games and what were their personal highlights within the last year. Unlike the official Game of the Year 2018 awards for DualShockers , there are little-to-no-rules on our individual Top 10 posts. For instance, any game — not just 2018 releases — can be considered.

In a dark reference to an event 16 years into the future, as Agent Ross is leaving with Agent Milton after a tense stand-off with Arthur, Ross makes a snide comment to a three-year-old Jack Marston. “Enjoy your fishing while you still can!” he snarks as he walks away. This ends of being an ironic statement when Jack avenges his father’s unfair end by ambushing Ross while he himself is enjoying post-retirement fish

By the time we first meet Dutch in the first game, he’s a shell of a man still fighting uselessly against the march of civilization. A single glance at him might still reveal a glimmer of a great man worthy of John’s loyalty, but many players found it difficult to understand how John could have followed such an obvious madman. RDR2 answers this by presenting a much more lucid Dutch at the beginning of the narrative, still filled with his trademark charm and wit. As the story continues and pressures mount, we witness Dutch slipping towards his inevitable heartbreaking fall into madn

red dead Redemption 2 guide Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar’s smash hit sequel to their beloved story about a former outlaw hunting down his old game. What’s more is that RDR2 is also a prequel to the original game, which allows for Rockstar to insert as many tributes and foreshadowing into the new story as they please. Well, boy did they deliver! This time around, you play as Arthur Morgan, the Van der Linde gang lieutenant who witnesses the twilight days of John’s infamous former gang and must make hard choices concerning just who and what he is loyal

In recent years, just about everyone’s been getting in on the whole open world thing. Titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Skyrim defined what it meant to offer players a huge, sandbox world to explore, and the bar’s been raised repeatedly si

If you’re reading through each and every staff member’s Game of the Year lists, it’s pretty likely that most, if not almost all of them will include both God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 at the forefront (assuming they played them). I’m falling straight into that trend – but you have to admit that there is an astonishing reason behind it. Both of these games are absolute masterworks, built detail-by-detail in order to transcend the normal experience of an open world game.

If you are anything like us, your PS4 screenshot folder is now about 2,563 or so pictures from your RDR2 playthrough. From the double rainbows you would sometimes see over camp, to the insane detail when the fog would roll in on a moonlit night, Red Dead 2 ‘s graphics, weather system, and lighting are staggering to beh

It’s no new trick on Rockstar’s end to tweak city names for legal purposes and otherwise take a whole lot of inspiration for their surroundings from real-life places, but it’s still uncanny and exciting to unexpectedly step into a long-ago vacation. This goes for St. Denis, a period recreation of one of the most fun cities – New Orleans. This may be more difficult to spot for players who haven’t visited the Louisiana party town, but for those who have, St. Denis has a wistful beauty. Sure, you can’t pick up any beignets but it’s definitely worth a visit for Southern enthusia

Almost every random interaction in RDR2 spirals off into some incredible mini-task or goes on to reveal a bit of valuable information. That’s because after all the years put into this game, nothing is truly random. That said, these interactions are worth the time , no matter who it’s with… even a wild cult nestled near Valentine in the Cumberland Forest area. At the very least, it’ll definitely be an interesting time with the turtle-worshipping Cult of Chelonia (Chelonia is actually the name of the genus turtles fit in). Plus, some might think they’re bonkers for their claims about aliens but we know bet

Midnight’s pistol is the fancier of the two, but this pistol is crazy good. It has one of the highest rates of fire out of any weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2. If you need it, the gunsmith has you covered so don’t worry about it. In terms of damage, it can take someone out in two shots even from a fair distance which is super helpful in tight situations so it is definitely worth the investm
